This Privacy Policy explains how HireBee (โ€œweโ€, โ€œusโ€) collects, uses and protects personal information when employers and candidates use our async video interview platform. This is a general template and should be reviewed by your legal counsel before relying on it.

1.Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account data for employers โ€” name, email address and authentication details used to sign in.
  • Job and interview content you create, including job titles, descriptions and interview questions.
  • Candidate submissions โ€” recorded video answers, and any name or email a candidate provides.
  • Billing data processed by our payment provider, Paystack. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Usage data such as log information, device type and pages visited, used to keep the service secure and reliable.

2.How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain and improve the platform.
  • Enable employers to review candidate video submissions.
  • Process subscription payments and prevent fraud.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3.Candidate videos and storage

Candidate video answers are stored in a private storage bucket and are never made public. Access is granted only through expiring signed links available to the employer who created the job. Videos are retained for 7 days on the Free plan and 1 year on the Pro plan, after which they are deleted. Enterprise customers may agree custom retention periods.

4.How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run HireBee โ€” such as our hosting provider, database and storage provider, and Paystack for payments โ€” and only as needed to deliver the service. We may also disclose information where required by law.

5.Data retention

We keep account and job data for as long as your account is active. Candidate videos follow the retention periods described above. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

6.Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

7.Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, private storage and access controls scoped to each employer account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

8.Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the โ€œLast updatedโ€ date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
